Thank You All for the past few Weeks…
As many of you already know that Florida has been hit with two storms Hurricane Ian then Tropical Storm/Hurricane Nicole. And we have very busy between making the rounds and helping who we can. I did 15 successful welfare checks and that is always a plus when we go to check on people and that their power is just out and their cell phones died to a lack of charging.
I had a few setbacks such as we could not get our supplies like we normally do, that was to be expected but it still stung while I had to wait and not be out there like I should be. But it happens and we deal with it and get back out there when we can.
And I will continue to do the best with what I got and thanks to all our supporters out there.
To Be Honest…
After 3 almost 4 years of doing this, I know that we will never be a huge nonprofit like The United Way and many many others. The only ones who know us are the ones we help, we are not even a blip on anyone’s radar. Do you think Dolly Parton or Jeff Bezos or even Elon Musk is going to notice me/us and say we love your work here is a few hundred thousand? lol no and to be truthful I would never expect it, first of all, there are many many many nonprofits out there with many different causes and they have been around longer than me.
I started this with the money I saved up from working over the years, and the odd jobs I do now sure I get some donations and other things like Our Amazon Smile and Reviews Page. I even take a job for 6 to 8 months that allow me to save up and do local runs around the southern states sure it’s not all over the place like I normally do but I am still doing something.
So when I thank you all it’s very true to the heart because in the end because we are the underdog the Bad News Bears of Nonprofits but I can still say that we are honest and true not to mention I am out there in the middle of the night doing our thing. Sure it’s not always easy but it’s what I want to do because there was a time I was broke living in a foreclosed house and bad break after bad break not due to me not trying but things just not working out at that time. So again I get it and this is why I try to be where I can when I can.
And our success over the years has been from the support of the people like all of you. No big company, No big rich millionaire, No help from the media.
But Me My Volunteers and the many of you that believe in me.
