Why Do We Do This??

Why Do We Do This???

The answer is simple why not…

If you have been following Me/Us for a while then you know the story. After a 21 year run as a Fedex Express the powers at be didn’t want me and a few others around anymore. Now even tho I video taped them for a year and took them to court well things didn’t go right for me and well they had way better lawyers. Way Better…

And well for the next few years things just snowballed from there, I took a job that was a few days a week for 10 bucks an hour. I was making 23 bucks an hour so that was a huge drop off, I was in South Florida and whatever other job I applied for well they didn’t choose me. So I was stuck doing odd jobs and forget about the unemployment system, I think I got one check and that was it.

I had a good gig with Be My DD for a while but summertime came and it just dropped off, and if I missed one call and called back right after well they found someone else real quick. When I tell you for a period of 3 years nothing went right, I just could not believe it nothing I did worked out. I was even wondering if it ever was going to.

My savings were on the ropes now literally gone, I was selling my prized possessions until there was no more. My house was in foreclosure, and my weekly routine was combing the house and gathering up all the lose change I could find. All my credit cards were now maxed out and I couldn’t even make the minimum payments. I was literally that bad some days I didn’t even eat to save money.

But what I didn’t know was I was getting an education as well, you see I wasn’t alone on what I was going through. Hundreds or even thousands of Americans were going through the same thing I was. I saw then once a week when going to the job placement center. people with over 20 years experience just not getting hired, job interview after job interview working for a few days getting paid then ok we don’t need you anymore.

Luckily it took almost 4 years for them to take my house, or else it would have been me in a tent or under a bridge. And then it happened in 2015 I finally got an answer to my prayers. I got a call back after interviewing with Lauderdale BMW a dealership owned by the Holmans.

After a few weeks of back and forth I was finally hired and the opportunity to get a steady paycheck. Then I swore to myself I would help others, after my first 4 months I got an old 2000 ford Expedition then I started to feed the homeless around the greater Ft Lauderdale area and it just took off from there.

Then Hurricane Michael hit and well it was only 8 hours away so I started doing that, when I got to Marianna two weeks after the storm hit. I was never in the middle of so much devastation before, sure I went through a few Hurricanes but none like this. And then I realized this is what I need to be doing.

Being there for others when they need someone there the most. Then I decided to go for our 501c3 and never look back.

From handing out water in Flint and Newark to just seeing someone on the street and making sure they eat for the day. Or going to a VA Hospital to lift someone’s spirits it’s something I just love to do. The volunteers that help me are an amazing bunch of individuals that I am eternally grateful for.

Then we have the amazing people that support us, and if it wasn’t for any of them we couldn’t do what we do not by a long shot.

Instead of talking about it on the internet… Facebook, Twitter and so forth we get out there and do it. Now we are on the internet but we are letting you know what we do and if we can do it. So can you, it only takes a second to care.

So why not?
